World famous Seattle’s best coffee is a familiar spot for many. Their freshly brewed coffee and baked goodies have been my favorite for years.
I was invited to try out their newly launched light meals menu and I must say it’s definitely worth a try!
Giving middle eastern touch to the menu is the zaater lebneh dip & beetroot hummus. Both of them are great to go snacks and not to forget how healthy they are. They do have soups and salads which are great for light lunch. My greek salad was a really hearty portion and love the dressing with it. SBC has also introduced wide range of reasonably priced wraps, I went for the veggie wrap and my guest opted for halloumi pesto sandwich. Clear winner from the two would be the latter one as it was moist and perfect! We would have loved it more if it were in multigrain bread.
To cool ourselves off, we tried the deliciously thick chocolate milkshake which was perfect to wash down all the dishes we tried. The waft of freshly baked cinnabon was irresistible so we skipped desserts and went for a chocobon & pecanbon. Needless to say, both were amazing and possibly the freshest of all the branch I have had at. You can watch them make it fresh!
Great little spot for casual meetings and some hot cinnabons!

I never really got why my best friend is obsessed with Turkish cuisine. That was until I tried Babaji!
Located in Citywalk 2, Babaji offers Turkish dishes that are authentic & are made from scratch. My friend has been raving about them as she tried their branch in London. The staff were courteous & helped us suggesting dishes. We settled down for tomato & pomegranate salad, hummus, cheese Burek, four cheese pide, lamb kofta & chicken pide.
To be honest, all our dishes were so good that we enjoyed all. Especially the four cheese pide, it was fresh out of the stone oven and you can even request the chef to show you how its made. The soft breads, light turkish music in backdrop.. everything added to our lunch experience. Those who are new to this cuisine should also try burek that was stuffed with cheese under several layers of flaky pastry.
To end our meal we tried our three desserts! The kunafa, burma kadiyaf baklava & chocolate cake. Of the three my favorite was the baklava because it was Not too sweet but just perfect! My guest on other hand loved the kunafa. We unanimously voted the chocolate dish to be the weaker one in terms of taste.
Our food was presented in gorgeous white plates with blue motifs. The service was spot on right from the restaurant manager to our server Humaira who took care of all our needs.
Babaji is a must visit for those who want to try authentic turkish dishes!

Larte is the latest addition to dining options in D3. I personally love D3 but the road to that place is a mess even on Google maps. Anyhow my guest and I reached the place to try out some italian delights and did the food meet our expectations? Read to know…
Our appetizers consisted of burrata, truffle arancini & zucchini fritters . All three were superb! Our favorite was the fritters which were perfectly cooked.
For our mains we selected Truffle mushroom risotto which is their signature dish & my guest opted for Lobster linguine. The presentation was spot on.Generally I am not a risotto fan but this one I would certainly order again!
Our desserts were Larte special Bueno, Cannoli & deconstructed tiramisu. While the tiramisu sadly didn’t impress me, I was completely drawn towards the bueno which had elements of chocolate such as milk, mousse & even tempered. The cannoli dish was tad sweeter due to candied orange peels but we loved the citrusy twist to the dish.
La Arte is licensed restaurant & they have some killer cocktails which would be best with sundowner meals. They do have a good selection of mocktails as well.

Fresh organic produce is one thing I always stress on. I love the crunch of the vegetables, the colors and how gorgeous they look! One restaurant’s name that always pops up in my head is Baker & Spice. I have a lot of memories attached to this restaurant as it was my dad’s favorite. Right after shopping from farmer’s market, picking out fresh produce we (dad and I) use to head to baker & Spice souk Al Bahar for a slice of cake & coffee.
Recently, Baker & Spice invited me to try out their vegan/vegetarian options from the menu. A visit to their branch bought back all the memories. Did the food quality change? With time they have only improved upon the flavors, the textures and the techniques.
We started off with Avocado feta salad & Burrata. The avocado feta salad was just perfect with confit tomatoes cutting down the richness of the cheese. Our burrata was fantastic too! Fresh burrata with pesto & pinenuts a classic combination that never fails. To wash it down we had our charcoal lemonade & Apple mojito. Charcoal lemonade was tad sweet for my liking but I loved the presentation.
Our mains are something I cannot stop talking about. My beetroot bucatini was really impressive! A resident dish on the menu this is the kind of dish I expect for vegetarians. Served with organic spinach, chickpea curry and coconut, this dish was a hit. My guest’s main was squash tortellini with goat’s cheese. Now my guest is really fussy and not someone who experiments beyond basic vegetables and fruits. This dish was new to him too and the flavors were just perfect! This dish was one of specials of the day and kudos to the chef for such a creation. Both bucatini beetroot pasta and tortellini dish were handmade!
After delicious mains, we set off to try some desserts. Chocolate sundae was something that caught my eye and my guest opted for chocolate torte. The sundae consisted of their in house baked brownie. Both our desserts were heavenly as they are always at Baker & Spice. I have been ordering cookies and bakes from them for years so there is absolutely no doubt about the quality of their products.
With views of mighty Burj Khalifa & Dubai fountains, Souk Al Bahar branch is the best of all to visit. There are ample amount of dishes for both vegetarians & non vegetarians. All dishes are made with organic local produce that they have always been associated with. I reckon this place would be perfect for a lunch date! The ever smiling staff were friendly and helpful with menu options. They were even careful of allergies and suggested dishes as per our liking.
More vegan/vegetarian options are avavailable on Monday as they have Meatless Monday promotion.

Piadera offers diners a chance to try the authentic Italian street food (piadas) with their own twist! I recently got a chance to try some of their delights. Read more to know.
They serve delicious dishes such as burrata, calzones & piadas of course. For those who aren’t familiar with piadas, these are flatbreads similar to pita but made in olive oil and cooked on a grid. Slightly thicker so that it can hold all the delicious filling!
We tried foccacia veggie, vegana piada, red calzone and mushroom pasta for our mains. The best of the lot was definitely the red calzone as it was stuffed with fresh mozzarella. I loved the vegana piada too as its made with soft tofu & olives. The pasta were a bit dry for my liking.
Our desserts were fabulous too.The chocolate torte was thick almost like cousin of a brownie. Our tiramisu was classic and delicious as well.
Piadera is best for those looking to try something new for their lunches/dinners. Their prices are reasonable and the variety of vegetarian dishes is great too!

Espana has been voted as the chefs choice of restaurant recently. So when I got the invite, I was certainly excited to try out the same. I must admit though, I generally prefer tapas because not at every place you get vegetarian options especially the paella. So I brought along a friend who is a Spanish food expert.
We started off our evening with some delicious sangria, an entire pitcher fell short to us! It was delicate and I would definitely prefer to cool off with it in summers. We Also enjoyed some scrumptious tapas, namely stuffed potatoes with mushrooms & goat’s cheese crouquetas. My guest enjoyed her chicken skewers dish.
The tapas are priced well for the portions served. It’s not to tiny and perfect for a light bite. Following our tapas experience we had vegetarian paella & my guest had seafood one. I have had a chance try vegetarian paella only twice. Once in Casa De Tapas & once here. I was surely surprised by the variety offered for vegetarians which definitely makes a decent meal. My guest’s seafood paella was filled with mussels, octopus & prawns all cooked to perfection(guest opinion)!
We ended our meal with delicious churros that were served with chocolate chilli sauce & carrot cheesecake. The former was a standout while the latter dessert was not really impressive. We paired our churros with Macchiato Martini which was a strong choice of drink but went really well with the desserts.
Overall, it was fun night at Espana and I will certainly be visiting the place again for ladies night. We loved the live music feature. Unsure of what is the exact decor inspiration however its quirky and attractive!

Parlour boutique is a quaint cafe located next to iconic trade center. The venue is popular for road shows and also for business lunch spots.
The restaurant has tasteful decor and lovely patisserie on display. There is outdoor seating as well which is just perfect for this weather. We tried summer salad consisting of burrata, grilled peaches & red onions. The dish was just a perfect start to our meal. My guest opted for baked Camembert, warm & cheesy dish was paired with assorted jams & breads. We also happen to try the avocado toast with watermelon salsa, eggs Benedict palour style, grilled vegetable tartine & truffle scrambled eggs.
While I am not a fan of eggs in savory dishes, my guest relished the Benedict & scrambled eggs. My vegetarian tartine options were plated beautifully & tasted delicious too!
To end our meal we tried not one or two but five different desserts. Ranging from cakes to eclairs. Everything is really reasonable & tasted really good. The best part about all the dishes were that they were really fresh!
For drinks I opted for kale smoothie which I would highly recommend to try. Also their new edition November rain, full of berries is a delight to try!
All the dishes are totally instagrammable & the plating is minimalistic but gorgeous! Totally a feast for ones eyes!
The restaurant offers a complimentary valet service for diners & has recently introduced afternoon tea concept as well. If you are looking to impress a date or just a casual hangout, I strongly suggest to try this hidden gem out!
