Bollywood Dreams At Bol Gappa Restaurant

After a fun filled day at Bollywood parks & Motiongate, my family and I headed to Bol Gappa.  We were famished and ready to devour anything that was bought to us! Coming back the the restaurant, I really loved the décor done, movie posters, dialogues on the wall and such. Does the food do justice? Read further to know.

We started off with Mango lassi, Berry Mojito and Lemon Mint and for starters we were suggested Mexican bhel, paneer diljale and pot pataka. Of the three we unanimously selected pot pataka because it wasn’t spicy and perfect little dumplings were delicious to enjoy!

Our mains consisted of penne pasta in creamy mushroom sauce, vegetable biryani and paneer tikka wrap. All the three were too good in terms of taste and pricing. The mains are portioned heartily! I have never seen a huge bowl of pasta been served for a price as little as AED39. Our jolly server Mr. Raj was a fun person to interact with. His suggestions were spot on and were almost winners (except Mexican bhel which is a spicy affair!)

For desserts we opted for gajar ka halwa spring rolls & banoffee pie.  The banoffee pie presentation would put cafes to shame. Spun sugar works and berries! With only a glitch that this pie lacked the rich cream topping one would generally expect in a regular banoffee pie. Nevertheless it was delicious! Another beauty was the gajar ka halwa spring rolls which were mindblowing. That is the exact word that comes to my mind when I think of this dessert. Taste was almost as good as churros and serving it with vanilla ice cream.. Hallelujah!

Burger Time At Blaze Burgers

Blaze Burger is a famous burger place all the way from Bahrain. They serve the hottest sauces and the most delicious shakes! Does this vegetarian survive in a place for meat lovers? Read to know..

My guest opted for beef burger while I opted for the only vegetarian option the portabella mushroom burger in brown bun. Topped with nuclear mustard, my burger was super spicy! I also tried a similar combination in lettuce which was a decent choice. We tried angry fries which were again topped with spicy chilli paste and jalepenos. I stuck to simple cheese fries because I cannot bear too much spicy food. Along with burgers we opted for lemon mint drink and apple mojito, both were refreshing! My maltersers milkshake was heavenly and I would definitely recommend everyone to try it.

To end our meal we had Churros filled ice cream and skillet chocolate cake. Bought were huge portions which can easily be shared and were so so good!

I would love to visit Blaze burger more often because you can DIY your own toppings, burgers and everything. However finding parking in JBR is a task in itself. When we had visited, two parking sections were closed and had to park pretty far and walk for a good fifteen minutes to reach the restaurant.

Visit for : DIY burgers, pick your own sauces and superb service.

New Launches at Seattle’s Best Coffee

World famous Seattle’s best coffee is a familiar spot for many.  Their freshly brewed coffee and baked goodies have been my favorite for years.

IMG_1972

I was invited to try out their newly launched light meals menu and I must say it’s definitely worth a try!

Giving middle eastern touch to the menu is the zaater lebneh dip & beetroot hummus. Both of them are great to go snacks and not to forget how healthy they are. They do have soups and salads which are great for light lunch. My greek salad was a really hearty portion and love the dressing with it.  SBC has also introduced wide range of reasonably priced wraps, I went for the veggie wrap and my guest opted for halloumi pesto sandwich. Clear winner from the two would be the latter one as it was moist and perfect! We would have loved it more if it were in multigrain bread.

To cool ourselves off, we tried the deliciously thick chocolate milkshake which was  perfect to wash down all the dishes we tried. The waft of freshly baked cinnabon was irresistible so we skipped desserts and went for a chocobon & pecanbon. Needless to say, both were amazing and possibly the freshest of all the branch I have had at. You can watch them make it fresh!

Great little spot for casual meetings and some hot cinnabons!

Authentic Turkish Cuisine At BABAJI

I never really got why my best friend is obsessed with Turkish cuisine. That was until I tried Babaji!
Located in Citywalk 2, Babaji offers Turkish dishes that are authentic & are made from scratch. My friend has been raving about them as she tried their branch in London. The staff were courteous & helped us suggesting dishes. We settled down for tomato & pomegranate salad, hummus, cheese Burek, four cheese pide, lamb kofta & chicken pide.
To be honest, all our dishes were so good that we enjoyed all. Especially the four cheese pide, it was fresh out of the stone oven and you can even request the chef to show you how its made. The soft breads, light turkish music in backdrop.. everything added to our lunch experience. Those who are new to this cuisine should also try burek that was stuffed with cheese under several layers of flaky pastry.
To end our meal we tried our three desserts! The kunafa, burma kadiyaf baklava & chocolate cake. Of the three my favorite was the baklava because it was Not too sweet but just perfect! My guest on other hand loved the kunafa. We unanimously voted the chocolate dish to be the weaker one in terms of taste.
Our food was presented in gorgeous white plates with blue motifs. The service was spot on right from the restaurant manager to our server Humaira who took care of all our needs.
Babaji is a must visit for those who want to try authentic turkish dishes!

Restaurant Review: Cafe Society

Cafe society is the newest restaurant in marina that offers diners an unforgettable experience! We were here to try out their delicious offering.
I forget at times that I should consume low carbs. One of those moments was when warm & fresh bread basket was placed on our table. So absolutely delicious & the honey butter served along is enough to wet one’s appetite.
Our order appetizers consisted of tomato burrata salad, truffle croquetes with gorgeous presentation, calamari rings. The calamari rings as per my guest were tad too oily, however my croquetes were spot on!
Our mains were rice cagnone which was essentially pea with pecorino cheese puree with rice. I have to admit, I found it a bit bland for my taste. My doritos pizza was super delicious! Topped with homemade taco chips, oozing with cheese and jalepeno. My guest states that her lamb chops were perfectly cooked and tasted delicious too.
Our desserts consisted a dulche de leche which is trio of desserts and a shareable portion. Chocolate popsicle which was just like homemade chocolate ice cream bar but the thick coating on it won our hearts. Our last dessert was the giant macaroon. Sadly this one didn’t live up to our expectations as it was really tough to chew and the ganache was pretty sweet.
Overall, some dishes were a hit and some were clearly a miss. However I do recommend a visit because the food is unique and the decor is luxurious. For a cafe this place scores plus points for being totally instagrammable!

Dessert Heaven – Sukkar

I am a hardcore dessertarian which is why most of the time my instagram is filled with images of various desserts. When an invite from lovely lads at Sukkar popped up, I was super excited to visit them & try out their delicious offerings. Sukkar in Arabic means sugar & the name is apt for sweet treats they offer.
IMG_1081
Located next to my favorite Logma, this place was once for brownie box. Same has been replaced with Sukkar.  Whatever I tried, everything was proportionate to price & quantity. We tried, arabian affagato, rose kunefe cheesecake, pretzel brownie, massive snickers milkshake, nutella well, assorted puffs & rosemilk cheesecake.
My favorites will always be the nutella well & pistachio & rose milk cake. I have never had a more moist milk cake.
If you haven’t visited sukkar yet.. Do make sure to try out their desserts once. I would skip multiple meals to try out their sugary goodies ❤
I will let the images talk to you & tempt you!

Larte D3 – Where Food meets Fashion

Larte is the latest addition to dining options in D3. I personally love D3 but the road to that place is a mess even on Google maps. Anyhow my guest and I reached the place to try out some italian delights and did the food meet our expectations? Read to know…
IMG_0980
Our appetizers consisted of burrata, truffle arancini & zucchini fritters . All three were superb! Our favorite was the fritters which were perfectly cooked.
For our mains we selected Truffle mushroom risotto which is their signature dish & my guest opted for Lobster linguine. The presentation was spot on.Generally I am not a risotto fan but this one I would certainly order again!
Our desserts were Larte special Bueno, Cannoli & deconstructed tiramisu. While the tiramisu sadly didn’t impress me, I was completely drawn towards the bueno which had elements of chocolate such as milk, mousse & even tempered. The cannoli dish was tad sweeter due to candied orange peels but we loved the citrusy twist to the dish.
La Arte is licensed restaurant & they have some killer cocktails which would be best with sundowner meals. They do have a good selection of mocktails as well.
