Dubai Mall is my absolute favorite place to be as I do my cardio here.. I mean my shopping . Along with plethora of brands and stores popping in there is a wide variety of dining options available too!
Spotted Scoozi in Dubai Mall that serves the two most popular cuisines, Japanese and Italian. At first I was wondering which cuisine to choose but since there was large variety my guests and I decided to order the best from both.
They have fantastic selection of coolers to begin with. My favorite of all was the strawberry cooler, so refreshing & the fruit flavor bursts out making even the most warmest days go cool. For appetizers my guests & I selected mozzarella crocante, vegetable spring rolls, Tricolore (burrata dish) and avocado maki. Surprisingly everyone voted for avocado maki & crocante to be the favorites from this set of courses. Rest of the dishes werent less delicious but these two were just perfect!
For mains we all went italian as vegetarian selections were not too many in japanese. We ordered a Margarita pizza, gnocchi quattro formaggi, ravioli & Farfelle Al Funghi. Our favorite was definitely the gnocchi quattro formaggi as it was so creamy & so rich! All their dishes are well portioned and their pasta are all fresh! My guests were truly impressed with the main courses & so was I.
For desserts we opted for Chocolate fondant & Flourless chocolate cake. Both of them rich, chocolaty and simply superb! Lacked a bit in presentation but overall tasted really good!
My only concern was the service as it was a bit slow post the appetizers and the staff were hesitant to give their suggestions on the dishes. Also they weren’t attentive enough as many a times I had to repeat my queries.
Pro tip: If you ask for a table towards the fountains you get the perfect view without having to stand in crowds or even in heat for that matter of fact. Paired with delicious food, Scoozi makes the perfect place to dine in.

Ramadan is the most significant event for Muslims around the world. Abstaining from food and water from dawn to dusk is the pattern followed by observers.
Brands invest in heavy advertising during this period & take this opportunity to promote food products through various mediums. It’s not an incorrect practice to promote food products & related services during fasting hours. However, innovative campaigns always work well as they stand out from the crowd.
One such noticeable campaign launched last year was by McDonald’s UAE. Their “No distractions” billboard was appreciated by many. This campaign garnered positive responses and resulted in launch of a similar campaign this Ramadan known as ‘The Hand Gesture Campaign’
McDonald’s has set a perfect example for how marketing is done in this era. There has been a shift of focus from just product advertising to consumer oriented marketing. ‘The Hand Gesture Campaign’ focuses on respecting Muslims observing Ramadan by keeping the food displayed on outdoor mediums to a minimum. What’s interesting to observe is that this campaign too like the former one continues to focus on theme of being respectful in holy month of Ramadan.
‘The Hand Gesture Campaign’ includes digital billboards which show empty hands “recreating” a burger before iftar & then gets replaced by the same hands holding a burger close to Iftar time. These hands can also be seen on some static billboards and scattered across panels around the country.
Another aspect focused in this year’s campaign is diversity. From details such as hands used in ads across to sharing Ramadan stories from people of different ethnicities, all have been covered. The Ramadan stories shared on their Instagram McDonald’s UAE are personal experiences by actual people. These experiences & memories are not only heartwarming but also gives an insight from various perspectives. This clever campaign creates instant connectivity between the brand & the audience with little focus on the product itself.
McDonald’s hand gesture campaign revolves around their latest offering which is the Ramadan meal. Exclusively designed for UAE, this meal includes a choice of burger, refreshing McFizz with Vimto Flavor, delicious Date custard Pie & Nuggets all for the price of AED25. Being a vegetarian I never actually get to try out Ramadan meals but this time McDonald’s has covered the same too. Their choices do include vegetarian burgers as well! Love how detailed their strategy is. This makes a difference and allows products to penetrate amongst various segments of the market.
Have you spotted this campaign recently? What are your thoughts on the same? Do write to me in comments below.
Generally I have smooth feet as I keep getting pedicures. However past month and half have been a nightmare. Finding apartments and then moving into one. All this left me with no time for myself and resulted in horrible looking feet. By horrible I mean really dry, rough heels and I had to hide them by wearing closed shoes all the time.
I took my roughed up feet as the perfect opportunity to try out Babyfoot which was sent to me by their PR team. Babyfoot is a Japanese product tried and tested by bloggers worldwide. The results are satisfying for most but the process.. well not exactly beautiful.
The product comes with two lavender scented gelled booties and a sheet of tape to secure the plastic booties at ankles.
Super simple! Just soak your feet in water for about 10 – 15 mins. Once done, pat them dry and wear the booties. Secure with the given tape and do not move! Though the product doesn’t mention to stay still but I would certainly prefer not moving in those plastic booties so that the product works its magic.
The product mentions 60 minutes but as I was watching a movie, I completely forgot to remove them until it was 90 minutes. No harm to the feet and no itchiness whatsoever. I felt like some oil was applied on my feel and slightly slimy as I removed the booties.
Day 1: Slight white marks on the heel and sole of my feet.
Day 2: Gets a bit freaky as the dry skin starts detaching itself.
Day 3: More dry skin peeling off, I covered my feet all the time during peeling process as it looks a bit weird.
Day 4: Slowly tugged out the peels to reveal soft skin beneath.
Day 5 : complete peeling was over and now baby soft skin revealed. The package mentions that peeling process may take upto two weeks, maybe that’s for worst case scenarios.
Post peeling care
It is recommended to not use any lotions and even scrubs for feet as all dead cells are already removed in peeling process.
The key to peeling is soaking your feet everyday post application for atleast 15 minutes as this softens the skin and helps in removing the dead skin.
Product is recommended to use once in every two months.
I really liked the product except the peeling process that really is unique and a grossly satisfying experience. The product certainly delivers the promise of baby like feet. This revolutionary product is designed to soften the toughest of heels. What makes it so effective is the addition of keratolytic ingredients such as lactic acid, salicylic acid, alcohol & glycolic acid.
Babyfoot is available on Souq.com and in all leading drugstores & hypermarkets.
Ps: I took pictures of peeling process but I don’t want to share them as its not really a appealing sight)
