Sushi Burrito – Where Japan Meets Mexico

Sushi Burrito is one of those fusion restaurants that offer you a unique combination of Mexican and Japanese.
We visited the emirates towers branch at DIFC that also offers complimentary valet parking( 2 hours )for the diners.
our choices consisted of DIY burrito which wasn’t the best I have had but fresh. The vegetarian sushi was passable too as it wasn’t prepared well. By that I mean the rolls were tied loosely. While few dishes mentioned earlier were a miss, what we really loved was the spicy edmame. The sauce on the edmame was fresh and lip smacking! My vegetarian poke is worth a mention too! Fresh vegetables and crunch from the nuts! I will definitely be ordering the same again.
My guest tried prawn tempura sushi which she loved! She also recommends the chicken katsu poke which was one of her favorites. For sweet endings, we tried the delicious mochi in mango & matcha, both were refreshing!
Overall, Sushiburrito is a great meal spot to try. The service is a bit slow but otherwise really friendly staff. I loved the decor & the long table dining option that is perfect for large families.

They have specials everyday of the week highlighting best dishes from Mexican & Japanese cuisine.

Dessert Heaven – Sukkar

I am a hardcore dessertarian which is why most of the time my instagram is filled with images of various desserts. When an invite from lovely lads at Sukkar popped up, I was super excited to visit them & try out their delicious offerings. Sukkar in Arabic means sugar & the name is apt for sweet treats they offer.
IMG_1081
Located next to my favorite Logma, this place was once for brownie box. Same has been replaced with Sukkar.  Whatever I tried, everything was proportionate to price & quantity. We tried, arabian affagato, rose kunefe cheesecake, pretzel brownie, massive snickers milkshake, nutella well, assorted puffs & rosemilk cheesecake.
My favorites will always be the nutella well & pistachio & rose milk cake. I have never had a more moist milk cake.
If you haven’t visited sukkar yet.. Do make sure to try out their desserts once. I would skip multiple meals to try out their sugary goodies ❤
I will let the images talk to you & tempt you!

Italian Piadas In Dubai- Piadera

Piadera offers diners a chance to try the authentic Italian street food (piadas) with their own twist! I recently got a chance to try some of their delights. Read more to know.
They serve delicious dishes such as burrata, calzones & piadas of course. For those who aren’t familiar with piadas, these are flatbreads similar to pita but made in olive oil and cooked on a grid. Slightly thicker so that it can hold all the delicious filling!
We tried foccacia veggie, vegana piada, red calzone and mushroom pasta for our mains. The best of the lot was definitely the red calzone as it was stuffed with fresh mozzarella. I loved the vegana piada too as its made with soft tofu & olives. The pasta were a bit dry for my liking.
Our desserts were fabulous too.The chocolate torte was thick almost like cousin of a brownie. Our tiramisu was classic and delicious as well.
Piadera is best for those looking to try something new for their lunches/dinners. Their prices are reasonable and the variety of vegetarian dishes is great too!

Cheese Dreams At Shami Gourmet

Do you crave middle eastern food when you travel outside the mid-east? I certainly get withdrawal symptoms and start frantic searches for places that serve my beloved manaoushe & falafel. The best of which you can find only in UAE. In UAE is the polar opposite as you will find every nook and corner restaurant serving felafels & Shawarma. Sorting out the best ones in my job.
I was invited to try out levantine vegetarian offerings at Shami Gourmet. They offer a wide range of dishes right from grills to gelatos. They do have decent vegetarian options for one to make a meal of. I tried, out the grilled halloumi, cold mezze platter, Arabic falafel, mix cheese manaoush and fatayer.
The food is excellent for the price they are offered on. Everything Is fairly reasonable and portions are good too! Open style kitchen gives you a glimpse of how you order is made. The staff at all times were wearing gloves and disposal head caps.
For desserts my guests and I opted for snickers gelato & berry cheesecake. The former was my favorite of the two as the gelato was creamy & absolutely on money. The generous staff let me try all the flavours they offer. Mango sorbet & ferrero rockers were my favorite of the lot. The cheesecake on the other hand was decent enough.
The day I visited they were facing some aircon issues. Despite that the staff were making a constant effort to keep all the customers satisfied. They are more popular for their deliveries as I sat there watching deliveries fly out constantly.
Overall, Shami Gourmet is a good option to try. Their prices are reasonable and the dishes are fresh & delicious!

Party Starters with Chips N Dips

What is a party without some chips n dips? Whether it’s a house party or you having chips n dips at burjuman, guaranteed it’s a party in your mouth!
I was sent an amazing range of dips and loads of chips to try. These are just delicious dips, especially the sweet and sour chili cheese which also happens to be their top seller is simply divine! Also the Seven layered Mexican dip is spectacular! Cheese, guacamole, salsa, herbs.. This dip was over in just few minutes!
They do offer delicious range of sweet dips too. My favorite be in the red velvet dip which goes so well with graham crackers
IMG_7106
All their dips are vegetarian and freshly prepared by them. I love their concept and the best part is that it’s really close to Vox cinemas in Burjuman so instead of ordering your regular nachos and cheese I would highly suggest you to try out the Chips N dips.
  • Free Wifi on purchase of a chips n Dips order
  • They do party catering as well. Contact them on 04 2244842

Reviewing 7th Heaven Beauty Products-Part 1

A few weeks back I gave away some fabulous beauty masks all courtesy of the generous sponsor 7TH Heaven(formerly known as our household favorite Montage Jeunesse). I was sent their lovely and colorful PR kit to try out the masks myself and share the opinion with you all. A bit of spoiler, these masks are definitely going to help you achieve that Pre Eid Glow!

I would have posted these reviews earlier but I like to see the effect of each mask within a week’s time to conclude on my reviews. So it took me a bit of time to try them all, the fantastic masks. I am going to post my reviews in parts so its easier for everyone. First up, I am reviewing the two tube masks i.e Cucumber Peel off mask and Dead Sea Mud Pac.

7th heaven

Dead Sea Mud Pac

Three main ingredients that make up this face mask is lavender, Dead sea Mud and Dead sea salt. Now I am not sure if you folks have heard about this but dead sea mud is a very popular product towards Morocco and also some Moroccan bath houses(hamams) use dead sea salt & mud extensively to clean the skin. While the lavender is used for reducing acne and even helps in eliminating eczema.

I was impressed with the contents but does the mask do the job? Yes it does indeed! Post the very first application, my skin felt clean and my T zone was looking a bit better. I have a combination skin with T zone being oily and the rest of skin being dry. I feared this face mask will dry out the skin but luckily such was not the case. Its thick and greenish color paste, easy to apply on skin. I am super recommending this one to all my combination skin buddies.

Recommended use: Once a week

Tube lasts: 12- 15 applications

Cucumber Peel off Mask

As the name suggests, the peel off mask has the main ingredient as cucumber known for its cooling properties. There is also lime oil and pressed flowers if cucumber doesn’t impress you enough. This mask is certainly as cool as cucumber! Its a peel off one and generally I dont prefer peel off ones. However this mask was very refreshing and good to use on all skin types. Its light and the skin feels slightly tighter after the application. Pulls out all the dead skin cells leaving the skin looking brighter.

Recommended use: Twice a week

Tube lasts 12 applications

Both of these masks are available at all leading supermarket/hypermarkets near to you. These are budget friendly drug store treasures that do the job while costing you almost nothing. All 7th Heaven products are vegetarian and cruelty free! They love animals like myself 🙂

Are you impressed with what you have read so far? Well there is certainly more to come! Stay tuned for the review of remaining masks from 7th in my next post.

April TGB Review

At first I wasn’t sure of what to expect, I mean this is my first dessert box and after all I didn’t have anything to compare on. At same point of time I was extremely excited to know what sweet treats I am going to receive.

The mystery was unveiled when I received my box, it was a quick delivery. So this is how it looks like..

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

When I got the box, I felt like it was a present from me to me. So much fun to try out five gourmet delights for a mere price of AED 89 onwards. If I were to order these individually the sweet treats would certainly cost more.

My box contained very unusual mix of some well known brands. I have heard of most of these but had not tried them. In a way this box is kind of a sampler to me. As a food & lifestyle blogger I should be aware of unique finds and TGB curators have done that job already. There was a card mentioning the theme & also explains the contents of each products and allergy information which is essential.

My box contained the following products:

Russian Tea Bread by Baker & Spice – A perfect crisp bread full of nuts and my favorite fig. Delight to dip with some tea or have it by itself.

Artisan Rock Candy by Candy Me: Colorful candies full of flavor.

Irish Rose Shortbread by Zo’s Kitchen – an absolute delight, these little wonders are perfectly flavored with rose. I am not a person who loves flowers in my food but this shortbread was just subtly perfumed & delicate in taste.

Legendary Gluten free Brownie by Oushe: I am a brownie fanatic and very particular about them. I bake them but cant perfect them. However I think I found the perfect ones. These legendary brownies have been featured in this box for two months for a reason. Soft, moist, gooey & gluten free!

Glazed Zucchini Chia Cake by Barsalata : Who said cakes aren’t healthy? Mine had Zucchini & chia which are two of my favorite ingredients and perfect for that cheat day treat!

Check out the slideshow below for all the goodies I tried.

Overall, TGB has been an amazing experience for me. Two big finds from the box were the Barsalata Glazed Zucchini & Chia cake & the Legendary Oushe brownies. Both of these I had heard of but never got a chance to try until now. A bit disappointment was the Artisan candies which were nice but not exciting enough. Different though. Also the box contains product supplier information & discount vouchers which is great for orders post first trial.

If you are someone like me, cracking head on what to gift your loved ones, TGB is a great option. Your loved ones can enjoy the goodies, feel special & if you are lucky they might share some with you too! Fun idea isn’t it? Be it a guy or a girl everyone (well almost) loves sweet treats and TGB’s special curated boxes can just be a perfect surprise.

Order from: Gingerbread Box

Like them on: Facebook & Instagram

P.S: The box was provided to me for reviewing purposes, however the views remain unbiased as always. xx

Party On My Nails With Ciate Corrupted Neon Manicure Kit

Hello everyone! Today I am reviewing the gorgeous Ciate Corrupted Neon Manicure Kit. This is a DIY kit that can be used at home to jazz up your beautiful nails. I was suppose to review this few weeks back but due to poor healthy I had to go all MIA.

Anyways so I happen to use this lovely manicure kit at one of Diwali Parties (Indian Festival). I was thinking this would be a messy experience but it turned out pretty well!

Firstly lets have a look at the contents of the pack.

IMG_3657

I got the Club Tropicana to try which is neon orange with orange glitter. As you can see the contents of the kit, there is Black Light Topcoat mini, Neon Glitter & Base coat nail polish.

The application is pretty easy, apply the base coat twice and before the second coat dries add the glitter on top. The glitter looks bright beautiful & sugar like. Love the rough texture it gives to nails! I tried applying the glitter and leaving the nails without adding the black light top coat, however I noticed that the glitter started to fall and the top coat is a requirement. The black light top coat just changes the look of the manicure. It looks like matte glitter yet shines beautifully in sunlight, if you know glitter sand this looks exactly like that. Coming to the neon part..this manicure is just perfect! The color shines out in UV light and is a difference experience altogether. The black light coat dries off soon which means you could do this quickly. The manicure lasted me for a week and more. I am super happy with the way this manicure turned out a I did not have any expectations.

IMG_3614

My only concern was the glitter, I wish the ciate 3D neon glitter manicure kit contained the funnel that is sold with the ciate caviar manicure set. The glitter spreads everywhere and is difficult to gather if the manicure is not done on a tray. My other minor concern was the removal of the manicure. The glitter had hardened so well on the nails, it almost felt like I had added glue to it. Its a bit difficult to remove but with Sephora nailpolish wrap removers the nails came out clean.

Here is the final result..
